I also review energy prices daily on my Octopus Energy tariffs page. It’s really important to know what’s happening at the moment. The Energy Price Guarantee is the cheapest standard fixed BUT you can still pay less if you look at smart tariffs.

On the 1st of July 2023, Octopus Energy will allow 50,000 customers to switch to the Octopus Tracker tariff. The rates are currently around 40% lower than the Energy Price Cap!

If you prefer an EV tariff with an off-peak rate the Octopus intelligent tariff is 7.5p per kWh, for a minimum of 6 hours a day and 9.5p per kWh for 4 hours off-peak on Octopus Go.

Wholesale prices have dropped so hopefully, this means that things are changing for the better in the energy market. Although I think it will take years for prices to reach pre-pandemic levels.
